I've been overwhelmed at the response to The Killer Isn't ADAM'S and I've received a lot of questions. Future editions of the book will have clarifications of rules that solvers found confusing. Here are some of the most common questions:
Does the book include the solution?
No, the solution is not included in the book. However, once you have a suspect in mind, you can use the solution page to submit a tip to the Chipping Mere Constabulary to check whether your solution is correct.
Is a PDF version of the book available?
I am working on a PDF version which will be available to purchase through this website when available. The PDF versions will be different to the physical book, with slightly different clues.
Do abbreviations/nicknames count?
No. All names mentioned in the rules or names lists at the back of the book must be found exactly as written in the book. This includes letters and accents (for example Zachary is not Zack, and Khloe is not Khloé).
Does Y count as a vowel?
No. The clue relating to vowels only considers the vowels A,E,I,O and U.
For consecutive repeated letter, do vowels count?
Yes. Any consecutive repeated letter disqualifies a name, including repeated vowels. For example, a name with a consecutive repeated vowel like Kathleen cannot be the killer.
For less than three names that start with M are duplicates counted?
Yes, for example if the same name that starts with M appears three times on a page, that page cannot contain the killer.
For page with a repeated name do alternate spellings count (e.g. Kylie and Kylee)?
No, a page only has a repeated name if it appears with the exact same spelling twice on one page.
For between Anna's page and Zack's page what if Anna and Zack appear multiple times in the book?
